Girls Rugby is excited to announce the hire of Gregg Cacioppo. Gregg will join the Girls Rugby team as the San Diego Program Coordinator for the fall 2018 pilot league.
Gregg was born and raised in Coastal North County San Diego and grew up playing sports and developed a deep passion for athletics. Gregg thrived on the soccer field playing for Carlsbad Lightning and played American Football in High School. It was in college where he discovered the wonderful sport of Rugby and played for the Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania’s men’s rugby team as an inside center.
Upon graduation for LHU with a degree in Sports Administration with an emphasis in coaching. Gregg is currently the Directer of Recreation for LA Galaxy San Diego where he helps build out curriculum for all coaches in what is the largest recreation soccer program in San Diego. “I’m so excited to be a part of Girls Rugby! In the soccer world I’ve been primarily coaching on the girls side for the past 10 years and I always tell my team’s that I was raised by a strong women, married a strong women, and I’m dedicated to coaching and developing strong women! Rugby is a perfect outlet to not only empower our young talented girls, but provide them with another amazing opportunity. I feel so blessed and honored to be a part of Girls Rugby here in San Diego!”
